About Milele Wildlife Sanctuary

At Milele Wildlife Sanctuary, our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide a safe haven for exotic and native species, foster conservation, and inspire future generations through education. The word Milele means “forever” in Swahili — and that’s exactly what we stand for: forever protecting wildlife, forever preserving habitats, and forever creating opportunities for people to connect with these incredible animals.

We follow a four-point approach that guides everything we do:

Safe Haven

We provide lifelong care for animals who can no longer be kept by their former owners or facilities. Every animal that comes to Milele receives ethical, comprehensive care with the goal of giving them the best life possible in a secure and nurturing environment.

Conservation

Conservation is at the heart of our work. By collaborating with other sanctuaries and engaging in ethical breeding programs, we help maintain sustainable populations and contribute to the long-term survival of endangered species.

Education

We believe education is the bridge between people and wildlife. That’s why we’re committed to:

  • Teaching the public about the importance of these animals and their role in our world.

  • Providing hands-on experience and training for students, volunteers, and future conservationists who want to begin careers in this field.

Community Impact

Through outreach, partnerships, and events, Milele Wildlife Sanctuary brings people closer to animals in meaningful ways — raising awareness, building compassion, and inspiring action to protect the natural world.
